Portfolio / Changing Horizons

With the responsibility of creating an enduring legacy, we approach each signature building with an uncompromising commitment to iconic architecture and lasting design.

We are proud to have a hand in shaping a city’s horizons, from repositioning an iconic Chicago skyscraper to redefining the skyline of Philadelphia with the first new residential highrise in a generation. We take a calibrated and sensitive approach to working within a project's unique conditions and purpose, considering both the physical and theoretical to achieve the best in architectural accomplishment and philosophical innovation. Across all of our properties, and especially on our most iconic, we seek to achieve striking design while respecting the surrounding context, the balance of energy and calm, and today's modern lifestyles.

Integrating History into a Contemporary Showpiece
Perched within Philadelphia's Washington Square, The St. James is the first building of its kind in decades. CRC repositioned this signature property to house luxurious oversized apartments and high-end amenities while integrating several historic structures into a modern, contemporary showpiece for the city. The multi-faceted property encompasses the landmark Philadelphia Savings Fund Society (PSFS) bank building — a legacy of European modernism — in addition to three eighteenth-century Yorktown townhouses.  The project preserved the original façades, which were completely restored and creatively converted to an open-air restaurant and boutique-style retail space. At 45 stories, the St. James provides unmatched views of the city from its floor-to-ceiling windows, pedestrian access to the best shops and restaurants, and modern architecture throughout.

The St. James is a great example of history meeting high-rise luxury. This winning property...has changed its city’s skyline.
